The Dual Major Track

Students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies may choose the Dual Major Track, which integrates the goals and outcomes of the Global Studies major with those of a second major. Unlike the standard Global Studies major, this track allows students to substitute 9-12 units of Global Studies Area electives with courses from their second major or approved study abroad coursework. All substitutions require approval from the Global Studies advisor.

The Dual Major Track offers students an interdisciplinary, international, and intercultural knowledge base, alongside critical thinking, analytical reasoning, writing, and oral argument skills. Through two advanced courses, students synthesize their learning by completing an experiential learning paper and a senior research paper that connects both majors and integrate major coursework with study abroad experiences. Academic advising supports students in effectively combining their majors, acquiring language proficiency, and planning study abroad or internship experiences in a timely and rewarding manner.
